Just had the compustar RF-2W901-SS along with the Compustar Drone for mobile phones. I am clearly blown away by this product and didnt know why i even bothered with the Gm 2way advanced remote. The biggest thing that i hated about the Gm remote 2 way was it was not really a 2way. It didnt page the remote when your alarm was set off. Not only that at random times my alarm would sound off for no reason. Ask Soulsea, he knows what im talking about. Here are some side by side of the RF-2W901-SS and Gm 2way remote
Then there is the drone system. Its like a GPS tracker for your car. You can get satalite maps of where your car is parked, set up geo fencing, where if your car leaves a certian designated area you will get alerted. i also went iad got Battery backup incase main battery is cut, alarm still triggers, I got a tri sensor detection, Shock sensor, Tilt sensor and Latteral movement sensor. Thats if someone come and tries to push it away more than a foot, alarm triggers.. Some of them are upgrade features but the basic is 1 year free.

That looks like a very nice comprehensive security system!
If you still like it in a few months I may look into getting it.

I dig the geofencing. What's the monthly service cost for those features?

New to this forum - been seriously thinking about upgrading alarm on my '10 Yukon XL for sometime (especially since my wheels got jacked in my drive way a few months ago).

Sumo- I know you have a lot of positive feedback about the Compustar, do you have any negative feelings about it? Been reading a lot, and it appears the approaching lights do not work on aftermarket alarms - does it work on yours?

And one last question, were you able to program the trunk lift gate and trunk window release?

Thanks,

Roger

Everything still works. Alll but oem remote start. Oem remote start uses info from the outside temp sensor and it turns on deforst or ac for you. On my comp, i have to set the temp and mode beofre getting out as when i remote start it, it will turn on at the same setting you left it at. I still get apprach lights still when unlocking, Auto headlights on when remote start or unlock doors and can prgram them like normal through the Dic. I dont have power lift gate, but have glass release and you can program power lift. Negatives, it can got pricy so its really what you really want it to do? I love toys so i loaded up on all options. Everytime i had a problem with my system in any car, i broght back to the dealer and they fixed or replaced the faulty component for free. Lifetime warranty but that may be my installer.

Appreciate the detailed info. Now just have to find a dealer near me to install.

Anyone know of great installer in the DC area?

Thanks, Roger

i have a 3 part system. The remote start, alarm and the drone. You can install just the remote start or alarm if you want. THe drone is a add on for the alarm and remote start so you can have all the techie gadgets on your phone or laptop.
