So i lowered rear alittle more the other day and did free travel mod. Thanks Justin!!! But truck handled very poorly and swayed bad in rear due to sway bar being way out of alignment. I don't have DJMs rear hardware kit with trailing arm relocators or shorter end links. So came up with a very cheap and easy fix.
Went to junk yard and picked up some rear links off a 00' Escalade and a 99' burban, and they are about perfect. Measured them compared to DJMs rear links and about 3/4" shorter then theres, so not a big difference. I installed them and it got my sway bar horizontal with ground. Had to go to hardware store for long bolts, spacers and nuts to make it work on passenger side, and relocate sway bar bracket over on driver side. I also cut my front sway bar links about an inch and really made the front end tighter also.
It now handles amazingly!!! No swaying, no bottoming out, rides and handles absolutely amazing now and feels almost like stock. Still want to get the DJM rear hardware kit, but don't feel a huge need for it right now as it isn't hitting any metal, no bottoming out, and absolutely no swaying front or rear over bumps. Was a great, easy and way cheaper method of lowering the rear sway bar links so they actually do what they should.
So anybody looking for a cheaper method of getting better handling out of there lowered SUV and they don't have the rear hardware kit. Go get some shorter links from a junk yard!!
Like I said, I got mine off a 00' Escalade and a 99' suburban and they worked perfectly. Hope it helps anybody looking to do this cheaper.
