Posted this at Tahoe forums and thought I'd share it here also.

I'm the type of guy who hates driving the same Tahoe as everyone else. That's why I took the time into modding some things just to stand out from the rest. Been looking around for some aftermarket lights for quite some time. Is it just me who thinks they all look like crap. Weird how there's not a better choice for one of the most sold suv model in North America.

So I'm posting these pics to give you some idea on how you can turn your chrome pretty bling headlights into somethin a little more badassish. It's 1:30am so I'll get around to explaining the install another time.

The grille match is unique too.

You took apart the stock headlights?

Or are these replicas?

Yes, they are the oem headlights.

Placed them in the oven until they were medium well, then I separated the back and front housing apart.

I replaced the stock yellow reflector for a clear lens made from a false ceiling panel. Still works really well as a reflector. Also needed to change the clear side marker bulb for a yellow one so it can maintain its original color.

The inside is all painted flat black except for the DRL and Flasher area which is painted base coat and clear coat so I could achieve maximum reflection due to the color.

Was quite time consuming, but I was happy with the outcome:cheers:

The led strips are from Recon sold as drl. Thought I'd integrate them on the inside along with a Putco 3157 led bulb for the drl housing.

Everywhere I read stated these are one of the hardest to achieve, but if you take your time with them everything should go well.

Trust me, you can look all you want and never find a pic of these.

I would personally buy some oem instead of the retros. I find all the aftermarket headlights look cheap, especially the one that looks like a smiley face out of leds.

Our oem lights look awsome, but the only thing that bothers me it the chrome. Why do you think I painted my grill black
