Just wondering if anyone has used this kit before (FLowmaster 17419)?
Yes I know slowmaster, prefer Magnaflow and so on. I figure this kit has to be better than stock. If I had the $Flow$ I would go with Corsa. Right now I do but other things seem to be coming 1st. With a family I have priorities. I'm hoping I can swing this. Local muffler shop was going to charge me 420.00 but I figure 385.00 on summit and mandrel bent tubing maybe better. Get it welded later.
Also curious if there is a problem with this if I decided to go lower in the future. Nothing major just maybe a McGaughy 2"-3" with spindles. Would there be clearance issues.

i have that kit on my 05 yukon. i installed it before my BBtune or the CAI and i immediately felt a difference in power in the mid to high rpm range and there`s almost no interior resonance at any rpm (it`s louder but not annoying) but it`s loud when you stab the throttle.

the only issue i had installing it was that the instructions made no mention that you have to remove the U bracket that the spare tire rests on in the front. the passenger side tail pipe won`t fit without removing it but it was easy to remove (2 bolts) and it didn`t affect the way the spare fits up there. it`s still tight.

i called their tech line and they didn`t know what i was talking about when i told them about the U bracket. :whymewhyme:

So are you happy with it? Do you like the sound?

i love the way it sounds, with the 50 series muffler it has a nice deep tone. and i`m very happy with it!

the only thing i recommend doing is to paint the muffler with some high heat paint before you put it on to keep the welds from rusting out.......but i just looked and since you`re from texas so you can probably skip that step....

and i forgot to mention before that installing it is the easiest part. removing the stock exhaust was the hard part especially if you do it on the ground like i did.

Thx. Sasquatch. Getting closer to my decesion.

IS you tahoe lowered? If not anyone else with a 2-3 drop. I want to know if their would be issues with the exhaust pipe clearance if I went with this kit and dropped the hoe in the future..

mine is the stock height so i`m not sure if dropping yours would cause a problem. hopefully someone with a lowered truck responds.

I like the way it looks. Went ahead and had it welded up instead of bolting it. Idle and crusing sound is mild but, it can be loud when you open it up. I'm satisfied at his point.

looks great. but i have to ask if you had to remove the bracket over the spare tire to fit the driver side tail in? i`m just curious if it`s the same on other trucks.

Hey Sasquatch actually I thought about what you said about working on the ground to put the exhaust up. So I just took it to a local muffler shop to weld it up for me. I don't beleive they removed anything. Are you talking about a L-shaped bracket just on the outside of the spare tire. YOu know what bro I saw the guy cut a lil bit of the pipe when installing the tubing for the drivers side. That maybe the reason he did. I was thinking what are you doing when he did but, everything looks even and welded nicely. SOunds good my friends seem to like it. I wanted it welded just so I knew it was really secure and no leaks.
