Where to get 12V+ switched

Hello I have been searching and going through threads and not found anything so.. If anyone knows of a please help me so I am not duplicating threads.

I am putting a Kenwood 7015 in my 03 Denali. (old, I know - but I got it for free today)
I am ditching the Bose and going with a 4-channel and a 250/1 - So no wiring adapters.
Where do I get a 12V switched power for my HU that will keep the radio going when I turn the keyt off before I open the door?
I used to just tap into the fuse panel when I did things half-assed but I am looking for the right way to do it.

Are you using a wiring harness? If you buy the harness and wire it up you shouldn't have any issues....I've installed 3 different head units in mine and haven't had to tap into anything.

If you can't get it at your radio harness, you can get it at the ignition harness. Should be a thick, pink or pink/white wire.

The only way to have it stay on until the door is opened is to buy a harness. You can get a Scosche one for about $40 if you don't need the Bose harness. You other option is to run a switched ignition from the pink wire in the ignition switch harness. But it will turn off as soon as you shut the truck off, not stay on until a door is opened. Another dawback of not using a harness is you will lose all signal chimes such as headlights left on, door open, low fuel, etc.

Nope. I'm told the only harness for mine is part of an interface with the Bose and its approx 100 dollars.
Def not going to spend that just to get power.

If you know of a cheap harness that will just get me the basics without forcing me to hook in to the Bose, I'm all ears!

You bring up another question I have.
Isn't the chimes tied to the Bose amplifier?
if so I still wouldn't have them, right?

The chimes are tied to the radio, which plays them thru the speakers. The harness has a little box with a speaker in it that you hide in the dash and the chimes play thru that little speaker in the harness/module.

And you should be able to use the non-bose harness if you will be bypassing the Bose amps anyway.

This is exactly what I couldn't find and the local audio shops were telling me doesn't exist!

Thats not true I know how to make the radio stay on until you open the door. There is a panel on the passenger side like the fuse panel on the driver side. There is a wire in there that you can tap into.

Sidenote: You will lose all warning chimes though, but thats what the dash lights are for imo.
