Power steering fluid change??? 04 5.3L

Got 86k on mine and it seems to be making groaning noises at low speeds around corners.
I checked the fluid in the reservoir and it looks pretty brown. Anyone ever change their fluid? I'd like to do this but can't seem to find any info or tips on how to do it and what to use.

I noticed the brake master has a line going to the PS area... are they connected somehow?

Any info is greatly appreciated.

Seriously? This is the best way to change the power steering fluid?

Do these trucks use power steering fluid or another fluid such as ATF like I've seen in other cars...? Any recommendations on what to use?

Sorry for all the questions.... just don't want to mess my truck up.

I always change power steering fluid exactly the way mac said.

Cheap, easy and it works.

Yeah, we usually suck it out, fill with new fluid, run it; then repeat about 3 times. There are shops that have a fluid exchanger that sucks old and pumps new fluid at the same time, but its really doing the same thing for more money. Don't waste your money on that.

Use Power Steering fluid, not ATF. Conditioners and additives are different. Similar, but different. Why chance it?

Pressurized Power Steering fluid powers the Power Brake system through the Hydro-boost system and is not run by engine vac.
