Well I'm looking to take the chrome trim peice out of my grille so I can paint it black and was wondering exactly how to do this. Pictures would be great if you got them, just looking to get this taken out ASAP so I can get it painted.

Thanks,

I need to do the same thing. How tough was it? Did you have to remove the whole front bumper cover?

I'm either going to paint mine or put the RBP grillle on. Painting would be the obviously cheaper route, but considering the RBP grille would be trick.

I left the bumper on and took out the grille. It's hard getting the chrome trim peices out:emotions122:

Can you expand on the process?

If I just wanted to swap the regular grille (chrome surround/black mesh) for the LTZ grille (chrome surround/chrome mesh) is it a big deal?

From photos I've seen, it's a few bolts along the top and then some clips for the upper portion? But how does the lower portion come out?

You have to unbolt the the bowtie and it's held on by 2 10mm speed nuts I believe. Take off the the black engine shroud and you will be able to see down the back side of grille and access the bolts and tabs. There's about 10+ little black tabs on each that are pressure fitted to hold on to the truck, get a screw driver prize up a little to release them. Do the same for the bottom.

Hopefully this made since. I'll go ahead and warn you it's no easy task and can be time consuming.

Good luck!:Handshake:
