Newbie here. Warranty question.

Hi,

I just bought a 2008 Graystone Metallic Tahoe Hybrid with just under 34k on the clock. I noticed the rear struts get the liftgate up to about 3/4 but have enough charge to hold it fully open once you manually push it up the remaining 1/4. Worn struts are items that need to be replaced every couple of years but if this happens within the first 3 years, does the factory warranty cover it?

I'll be going to a local dealer soon but figured I'd ask here in the meantime.

If your vehicle meets the age and mileage parameters then it should be covered under warranty. However, you will need to confirm with your dealership if you are still under the warranty that would cover this issue. Please let me know how it goes at the dealership.

Wow! Didn't realize GM representatives were active on here. That's great.

My vehicle still falls just under the 3 years/36,000 miles bumper to bumper warranty limit. I'll be giving my local dealer a call soon.

better do it soon because once it falls out of the 36k bumper to bumper you can't get the extended warranty :chicken:

Trust me on this one.. Buy a GM Major Guard warranty BEFORE the 3/36k warranty is up.

Wish I would of found this forum before I hit 36k. I had no idea they had an extended warranty.
