Need suggestions wheels/tires. 04 Tahoe

new to the forum and wanted to see if I can get few opinions on wheel / tire combo.. did a search but didn't find as many pics as I hoped for.

I just recently picked up a grey 04 Tahoe, plan to color match entire exterior and throw some wheels on it.. however, not looking to lower it.. so i'm not sure if I should go with 22's or 24's with stock suspension.. also, in both sizes what are the most common wheels/tire specs? (offset+sizing) looking for something decently flush but not sticking out due to stock suspension height..

Thanks Chip! that looks great! exactly what I was looking for!! 24's for sure will be an over kill! What kind of wheels/offset's are those? Do you have any pics from the rear to see how flush they sit against the body?

Also another thing I'm considering is those 22" escalade wheels but not sure on their width and if they will tuck too far inside of the fender wells.. either way your ride looks perfect!

I dont want it dropped because I already have two slammed cars and bought the truck to tow them..

I like 24s, but IMO, they're too impracticle. I don't feel like spending $400 on one tire, then looking all over town to find a shop that can mount them. They do look good though IMO.

Mine are 22x9.5, with a 13 offset and 17.1 Center Bore. The tires have 12" of available grip width per tire. IMO, the offset is perfect. They sit right on the borderline of being perfectly flush, but almost sticking out a tiny bit. It gives it a bit wider stance (more stability), but has an (almost) equal amount of wheel space/tire patch on both the inner, and outter sides of the hub. If you look straight down on the fender/quater panel, you can't see any tread, but you can see a little bit of side wall.

I didn't want to drop mine either, for the exact same reasons you don't. IMO, it's a truck! It should sit up high. I have an Accord for sitting low, and a 600RR for ripping shit up. The truck is for hauling things around in, or just crusing up high, in comfort (and maybe a little off roadin).

Many tks for the pics! Exactly what I was looking for and exact same reasons why I dont want to drop mine, I already have a race car and an R1, speed department had been well addressed

But I do need a tow hoe to assist with the toys..

Have you though of going with a 40 series profile tire? I've been looking at some pics and 40's give it also a very nice look, however i'm sure with 45's comfort factor is improved. Perhaps in my case it will not matter as wheels will be coated matte black..

Actually, yes. Yes I have. I'm planning on going with a 305/40/22 for my next set of tires.

I have 20's and in my album is many pics, but plan to eventually do 22's if i keep her.

after doing some more review i'm almost 100% sure i'll stick with 22's, 24's do look great but it just might be an overkill because i'm not going for a show look on a truck.. just nicely blacked out vehicle that can tow.. i'm sure the 22's will slow it down as is... this is a super newb question, but are there such things as wheel spacers for trucks?!? say you pick up a set of wheels you like but offsets are higher then expected, and you want to bring them out just a little outward.. anything such as this?

here is my truck she currently sits 3/5 drop kit with 24's 305/35/24

imho if you aint dropping the truck you want to fell in the wheel wall gap as much as possible 24's will do that just my 2.0

Many tks gents! Not really looking to drop it so from what I have seen 22's look pretty decent in comparison to 24's.. plus they will be all matte black so it should blend in a lot nicer then chrome in regards to gap.. btw, anyone got pics of nbs w/24's no drop?

I'd stick with 22's. You shouldn't have any rubbing issues with a 305/40/22 but may with a 45 series. If you want more sidewall go with a 285/45/22. You'll have a nice looking wheel/tire and less pulling on rough/groovy roads.

Here is a shot of my old '02 Gray Yukon with Chrome 22" Esky wheels. It was lowered 1.5". I can't find a shot minus the boat. I'll post an old one of 24's also. I have an '08 now and have the Esky's in storage for winter.

I know they are not black, but I thought these might help since the truck is Gray.

I like 20s with the 275/55/20 current body style tire size (if your truck has 16s on it the speedo will probably need to be calibrated) at stock ride ride and 22s if lowered. Here's a picture of my mom's truck with 20" LTZ wheels:
