No seriously .. im thinking about it..

Its not a need to sell or even a severe WANT to sell..

Its just that i have reached a magic number in my head the tells me for every dollar i spend on toys or repairs from this point on will result in a negative number..

Hypothetically...

If you bought a $50,000 house in a neighborhood of $100,000 houses..

You could do upgrades and repairs and get it up to about $125,000

But at that point.. say... adding a $20,000 pool... wouldnt change the $125,000 mark you had established because the price of local homes would keep it down...

feeling me?

So i kinda feel like it might be time to move on to a NNBS or if i have my way .. a NNBS hybrid XL with a 6 door conversion AND the xl portion.. basically a mini limo/mini rv kinda thing.. road trip vehicle from hell.

So yea... it might be that time... so before i get any deeper into it i thought id toss it around here a little and get an idea,a few offers... or maybe a change of mind.

Btw it is an 04 was a full leather bose and yall know the rest.

AND i think i could squeeze in a Kandied Kolor change on the truck and wheels.

To tell you the truth, you can't compare a housing market to a car. What you describe isn't entirely accurate with regards to upgrading a house and increasing value, nor is the pool description. Not trying to be an ass here, just voice of reason. Putting upgrades into a house increases the value of your home based on the bracket of comparable homes that you end up in - square footage, lot size, upgrades etcetc. And putting a pool in generally will net you half your return. If you put in a 20k pool, you can expect to ask for 10k more on your sale.

A car is a continually depreciating asset. A house generally is not, however the real estate market does go up and it does go down :). A custom vehicle is a tough sell on the account that you definitely do not get your money back and the majority of what you put into it is primarily for your own benefit/fun etc. It's also a difficult sell because of the fact that you are going to ask for more than the vehicle is worth based on the modifications you have done. A bank is not going to see it your way :). They will lend up to the value of your truck based on the year, condition, mileage. So a buyer might end up having to put more of his own cash into the pot in order to get the note on your custom truck.

Not trying to discourage you, custom trucks are obviously sold every day but we all know we don't get back what we put in. My brother has a hard time understanding that what I do for my truck is for ME.

That is one unique ass truck you got there though! Definitely a head turner :)

Boss is right, customizing cars can karate kick your wallet when its time to sell it. Thats why I will not go to excessive with my NNBS. Your truck has def. passed the excessive point in which your wallet will take a number for like you said.
I say sell it if you get a reasonable amount, then hop in the XL or maybe a Silverado and customize away, but def. don;t go excessive again. The mini-limo idea is excessevie IMO.

Id say sell if you're ready to move on...but make sure you think about it in terms of joy it brings you and not the dollar signs. I'd doubt you'd be able to get enough outta it to cover what you've put in anyway...but the dick wants what the dick wants. I say do it...I've love to see what you could do with something else, in another direction.

sorry... started reading your replies and stopped..

And i mean this in the nicest way possible and hope i dont sound like a dick

Someone offered me $25,000 for my bike this weekend (through my builder) and as of now its not even fully assembled...

The reason why?

I have $48,500 in receipts and receiptable labor.

So $25,000 seems like a steal.. and since i only have $13,300 in my personal money in it seems like it might be a good deal to me too.

So maybe its not just about the pool in your backyard but who built it..

If i had $50,000 in work done to my yuke (including price of vehicle) and someone wanted it ... $25k would sound GREAT to them... even if i only had $15k in it personally.

The numbers on the yuke were purely theory but the bike is a dollar for dollar story....

Excess (in relation to spending) has nothing to do with perception of spending and everything to do with what came out of your wallet.

---------- Post added at 07:29 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:28 PM ----------

Right now.. financially the truck (imo) is NOT in the range of excess.. anything else will be.

i did go back and read through btw but i hope what i said clears up my situation a little.

Hmmmm....I am surprised no one asked this yet, "What would you sell your 'Kon for?" With its paint/ with a new paint-job?
