Thanks TYF! Sold the yukon :-( *pics*

After 6 amazing years with my 2005 GMC Yukon SLT, I have sold her :-(

I had an absolute blast with the Yukon and took it from bone stock to a number of mods. The reason for selling was that I no longer had a need for such a large vehicle and it was not practical for me anymore. I did sell it to a close friend of mine, so I will run into the Yukon every now and then and am available for him to ask me any questions and possibly help work on it.

I downsized to a 2011 Audi A6 Prestige/Sport package with the supercharged 3.0 liter with 23k mi on it. had it 2 weeks and love driving it! Although, there are already plenty of times where I do miss the big body and I know I will miss it at times down the road. I definitely see myself owning another tahoe/yukon/escalade in the future!

Thanks for all of the help/support over the years. This is a phenomenal forum and community!!

I think it would be safe to say that I will still drop in on the forum every now and then

Here are a few pics of the yukon over the years highlighting some of the major changes, along with a pic of the new ride.

Nice looking Audi ... but good luck hanging around here, they are a snippy bunch if you don't drive a GM SUV. And by snippy I mean fat.

Thanks fellas, appreciate it! I will post some more pics of the A6 when I have some time and weather to take a few...

As for now, not planning on modding the A6 at all other than tint all the way around and hardwire my V1 radar detector.

Although, a tuned ECU is very tempting, yet very expensive.

more pics of the A6...

Also you can catch me on the Audizine forum under the same username!

No plans for the A6 other than to tint match the front windows and tint windshield and to hardwire my V1 radar detector... Although an ECU tune is very tempting!

You won't regret it. 09-11 is this body style (c6) the 12+ body style (c7) are pretty slick too. Test drove a few different vehicles, but the c7 are still pretty expensive... The kicker to buying mine was that it only had 23k miles on it and nearly a year of warranty left. Make sure to get the supercharged 3.0, it's fun :Big Laugh:

Yes, Audi's are great. Growing up in Germany and my father being the line supervisor for the interior assembly at Audi for the 100 and then A6, we had a new one every year as the old man got great factory employee discounts.

With 23K on the clock I would agree that you have gotten yourself one awesome ride. However, I have not heard of any Audi's running trouble free like our Tahoe and Yukons with 150K plus miles on them. An Audi with 300K miles on it I have never heard of.

I had an A6 Quattro once which was an awesome car to drive, a total pain to maintain. To change the timing belt (and at that time you will change the water pump as well) will cost you 2.5K and that is not a dealer price.

You will definitely not wrench as easily on an Audi as you would on your old ride (unless of course you are a mechanic by trade and have the additional knowledge).

Congrats on your new beautiful ride and I wish you all the best, but I am willing to bet that you will sell this car before you will reach the 100k - 120k Mile mark.

Jochen, I appreciate the insight. I knew going into it that maintenance would be a little pricier and that I won't be able to do some of the simple things myself, but I am okay with that.

And to be honest, I will most likely sell before the 100k mark but that is in part due to the fact that I take the bus to work and don't have to drive nearly as much as when I owned the yukon.

Likely at that point in my life, I will probably be looking to get back in an SUV and hopefully this forum is still around! :D:D
