Anyone paint your bumpers? Should I just wash them/600-800 grit sand/degrease/prime/paint/clear?

I had asked at another forum and the local body guy responded with this:

Do you have a spraygun? If so pull the bumper apart. Then use a 3M-7447 red scotchbright pad - dry - and scuff well. when you think your done do it again. Then use a fresh pad with soapy water and do it again. PPG and Dupont both have a good epoxy primers that will stick to the scuffed chrome. I use PPG because it comes in colors. red, black, grey, and white. This will also work on your chrome grille. Their are also other ways to paint chrome, this one works for me. :chopper:
