Hi

I'm a newbee here. I have an '07 Tahoe Z71 that has the typical Z71 front "lean" and it is a problem with my plow brackets at certain downhill angles. I have stock Z71 wheels and tires.

I fugure I need about a 1" to 1.5" lift to resolve the problem but am concerned about wheel allignment as this truck has always been tough on front tires.

What has been your experience with the ReadyLift 66-3090 top of strut kit on the GMT-900 Z71's. This kit allows adjustment between 1.0" and 1.5" What has been proples experience with regard to wheel allignment and tire wear after installation.

Thanks for any iinformation you can provide.

If you just want to raise your front end, just adjust your torsion bars. I haven't done it my self, but I had a buddy who took his yukon to a shop and had them adjust it. I think there is a write up in one of these threads. i think in the 00-05 area of the forum.

There are no torsion bars on 2007 and up GM900 vehicles, they are front struts.

I have a kit I bought on ebay which allows you to choose 1" up to 2". It mounts to the under the strut so it is soo much easier to install. I put set it on 1.5" of lift and I am really close to having leveled out.

That pic of your Tahoe looks great! Any other shots? Did you do anything to the rear suspension?

Thanks. I left the rear alone since the 1.5" leveling kit leveled it out perfectly. I think the rear is .5" taller.

This is the only other picture I have right now of it. The picture makes the front look taller but it isn't. This is right after I installed the kit and the rims and tires so the front did settle alittle.

If you want a quality set that is probably the most commonly used go with the CCM kit. I believe they offer 2" or 2.5" lift for the front and an optional 1" spacer for the rear. I installed the 2.5" front spacer and the 1" rear spacer.

A ton of people on this site have used the CCM kit and love it. I don't think I've ever heard any complaints. Also, you definitely DO need to get the truck re-aligned after installing the kit. And be sure to tell them you've added the spacers and it's not a stock suspension.

2.5"/1" kit: http://www.ccmoffroad.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=38

2" kit: http://www.ccmoffroad.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=24

Bottom mount kit from jmontruks on ebay is the only way to go.
Simple to install. Priced right.
Can lift 1, 1 1/2 or 2 inches.
No need to remove your struts to install.
