Dang that E-WPump is interesting!
Where did you buy it? Part#?
How many amps does it draw?
Not worried about a wiring failure on the road?
Didn't do UD pulleys while in there?
Can you feel a difference in the Butt-O-Meter?

Very interesting....

I hope you bought two, b/c if it poops out what are you going to do?

I was thinking of doing the same, but the worry for the HP doesn't seem like enough to warrant it.

I'm on my gauges like a hawk, I know there is a problem before there is a problem. LOL

It's like a new truck. Even when cold it gets up and f*ckin moves. I think that old pump had a bad bearing or something.

I got a Proform with relay kit from Jegs. It comes as a kit. I used their efan harness which is basically the same kit as for the water pump except for the temp sensor.

If your belt driven pump fails what are you gonna do?? The same thing I will do. Park it and get a new one. :D

Not sure of the amps but with just the pump the alternator is fine. With both efans, pump and the heat on full blast it dips down a lil. The voltage meter on my cap says mid 13s.

I should have done pulleys while there. Didn't have the money ... :emotions122:

Cool! Sounds like you got it covered.

I went to jegs and found THIS, but the vehicle applicator shows it only fits up to year 1995.
So then I went to the manufacturers webpage HERE, and it doesn't even have a vehicle applicator.

So what year is your truck and do you have a part number of the kit you bought?
So far I think you bought Proform part #66225B. If so, it only draws 6 amps which is peanuts. Factor on 1HP used to turn the ALT for every 10amp draw. So this electric pump draws 0.6hp from the engine, which is why it's so much better then the OEM.

EDIT: Man I love this place. Where else can you find extra HP with a little $160 mod? I didn't even know this stuff existed until joining here!

Ok, thanks for confirming the year. That sucks for me. I can't find one for the vortec anywhere.

Good for you though!
