145amps stock, they can be rebuilt to put out up to 300 from what I see ...

The later model Avalanches had a version of this. It's more of a DG44R or something, basically the same but the bridge negative was part of the rear case so if that goes you would need to replace the rear half of the case, with the AD244 you just replace the bridge.

Yeah mine is a 95 and has one, that's why I started this thread lol. It looks like even though it's a 4 pin plug they only use 1. That is the battery light on the dash. Looks like it needs to be hooked up to the right terminal on the new alternator, that's all ...

MY new mission is to find this alt used. i will call around monday
find a way 4 it to work for 1 wire or run the extra wires that it will
need 4 it to work. there is a alt site that has this alt for our 95 1 wire hook up. I will use this alt for the main batt then get the

electric fans. Later on i will get another one to replace my

system alt. autozone sells the 130 amp one

I don't think it NEEDS 4 wires to run, the pin out I saw shows 2 dead terminals, a battery light terminal and one other. For all purposes it's really a one wire/self exciting alternator ...

99 only uses the "B" terminal, even the newer PCM only uses 2, one being a duty cycle which ours won't have ... atleast mine won't have.
