Manufacturer problems with 2007 + Yukon's, Tahoe's dashboard being cracked

I have a 2007 yukon with 35000 miles on it very well kept and noticed a crack in the dashboard passenger side top left corner of passenger airbag storage box. While doing research I stumbled across some interesting facts that I'm sure GMC knows about and are not doing anything about it. I don't understand why they're not doing anything about it since they always talk about how they want to take care of customers and that we are the ones keeping them in bussiness. So all of you who own Yukon's you might want to take a look at this go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ikSCklf7g8

manufacturer's know about the issue and are not doing anything with except selling their vehicle's at a very steep price which I have always owned and drove GM vehicles and trusted them to the T but now I'm starting to WONDER.

GM is GM Yukon, Tahoe's, Suburban etc....... Just took mine to the dealer I purchased it from he looked at me and laughed and stated 3 years 36 thousand miles well I have 5 1/2 years and less than 36000 miles. He stated he couldn't do nothing for me. While i was there I went and checked out a used one in their lot and the dashboard was also cracked I told the assistant manager about it and He stated you see If I can't even take care of my vehicles how can I (He) take care of mine. So be carefull on leasing GM vehicles also I've read a thread where a Individual leased one and when he brought it back was charged $800.00 for the cracked dashboard.

In the brush near the river.
The dealership just replaced mine under warranty (GM Certified 2008 Tahoe). The service manager told me that it was a known problem and they actually keep dash boards in stock.

Did you get your handles done already from the recall on them due to the peeling of chrome plating.

That's ridicoulous what a way to treat customers. (GO GM) I've read something to where they are pending a recall but not publicizing it also if they get over 25000 complaints a recall will be established.

Some of the better known fit & finish issues on the 07+ trucks:

1. Lock actuator failure
2. Outside chrome handles breaking/snapping off
3. Dash cracks
4. Rear window rattle
5. Peeling off of inside handles/switches/steering wheel spokes

There are a few others but there is a plethora of threads on this forum addressing each individual issue, fixes, etc.

There's even a very helpful GM CS rep (Elizabeth) who checks in regularly and is known to help folks sort issues out even if their truck isn't under warranty.

Well to try to give you an example of the old one's and the new are that the old have a seem right on top of handle and the new ones are smooth. On the original thread with the youtube video they show an old handle in there where it started to peel on one of the clips. If yours are like that they have'nt been changed.

yes I've seen Elizabeth's name on other threads. She seems like a fantastic people orientated customer satisfaction person that is hard to find these days.
