HUD: heads up display (from a pontiac)

I was thinking about putting one in my 97 yukon.

Does anyone know if you can downsize the box it is in? Its kinda bulky. Maybe build a new box from styrene and texture it similar to the yukon dash.

Unless I could get a full gauge setup on the glass I would not bother with it. I must have more telemetry. Targeting and tracking reticules would be nice to.

I agree. That's why I asked if anyone knew if you could make it smaller.

This one is about half as small. It is from a cutlass supreme.

Full gauges would be nice. You'll have to add rocket launchers for tarketing though. :biggun:

I have one in my 04 Grand Prix. I have had mine apart and unfortunately do not see any way of getting it smaller. It is a self contained box that has mirrors in it that move to adjust the height on the windshield.

I do wish all cars had hud, though. The newer versions do more than the version I have. Mine shows mph, radio station, temp, shift time, gear, high beam, turn signal, and warning lights. There maybe other things, but these are off the top of my head. The new vettes and camaros have a tachometer from what I have seen.

I remember they became standard on 2002 corvettes and they were built in to the dash, not protruding at all. And displayed more features.

There's also a place you can buy the kit but not sure if you could get it to work for your truck. Not worth it imo-

Good to know thanks. I guess the best one to find is the smaller one from a cutlass supreme.

Ouch! That would be expensive. It does look sweet though.

You need a special windshield not just the dash unit it can't be done unless it came as a option :ehcapt:
