Hit Paydirt at Pick-n-pull today

Went down to the junk yard looking for some elect. connectors and stumbled on an NBS Z71 that had just come in to the yard. The front end was fubar'd but the rest of the truck was in good shape.

Walked out with a cargo net, console Bezel, heated leather bucket seats and both door panels with controls. Not a bad haul for $40 total.

Ran out of time for today. Going back Monday do see if the black nerf bars are still on the truck.

If you don't already have heated seats, get the wiring harness from that truck. It runs underneath both seats (under the carpet) and goes to each heated switch on each door.

If you are just replacing your current heated seats, than you don't need the harness. But you should still get it so I can buy it off of you. I need one.

Guess I'll be using the power seats without the head and memory .. for now anyway. I have power drivers seat only now. I might have time to get the Nerf bars but very unlikely I'll have time to try and get a harness out. (my bad)

From what I saw of the harnesses, they went across the truck and also both fore and aft. Since there are seat controls in both doors, how do you get the harness oiut? Seems like there was wires running all over.

It should run to connectors at both kick panels, and this is where you disconnect them. I am going from memory, but I think it also connects at the relay block, which is covered with the black plastic cover, just left of the brake pedal.

For the heated/memory part to work, you would also need the BCM from that truck, or a used BCM that had heated seats along with matching RPO options to your current truck.

nice finds. i got lucky like that once when i had a Honda Accord. i was able to get the steering wheel, door cards, & seats.

not that lucky with my Yukon. i need to find a new lid to my center console.

Is the BCM really necessary or can the functionality be enabled at the dealer? Where is the BCM located? There was a unit bolted to the floor under the driver's seat with a computer connector. I grabbed it with the seat just in case.

I checked my truck yesterday and I have both the Black 12 way drivers' and 'Brown 12way body' connectors plugged into the fuse block and both seats have the same connectors as the heated seats. Would i be just be missing some additional wires from the existing harness?

Omar,

I got back to the junk yard and got the harness from both sides of the truck. It's in multiple pieces so I'll have to reconnect the wires but I know I have it all. Some of the connections are obvious but others are not. Any chance you might have any diagrams or schematics for these seats and harness?
