I am in South Florida and its starting to get real hot outside.
I have owned my 2004 escalade for all of maybe 2 weeks.

I was on the interstate today driving and all of a sudden my cold air switched to HEAT.I did everything trying to get the cool air back adjusting controls with no luck it just continued to blow hot heated air.

30 miles later when I got off I95 I shut the car off and restarted it and bam AC is blowing ice cold again.... Can someone please tell me what the heck I need to do to repair this. Bummed to be already dropping cash on it , I spent everything I had buying it.

The blend door on that side needs to be changed. There is a blend door for the driver side, passenger side, and rear for temp. Did it do it on both sides or just the drivers side?

There are 48 threads dealing with the blend door actuator in the "interior" section.

Here is the specific "how to" to change them

VERY common problem for GM... Just change that out and you'll be golden.

While I was in school last semester I changed probably 5 of these things and with the same symptoms as you.

Glad to hear.... I will read over the threads later.. Just checked my thread quick after dinner.
gotta go put the kids to bed.

How long or hard of a project is it to repair the drivers side actuator?

Electronic modules now days aren't meant to be repaired really... its cheaper and faster to just R&R.

Do you have dual front climate control? like can the driver and front passenger have different temps?
