Hello, glad I found this site! I just got a new to me 2005 Escalade and have been fixing up little things here and there. Right now my focus is the remote clicker/FOB.

My Escalade came with 1 broken FOB. I managed to get that one cleaned up a bit so it will unlock, but not lock. At least there is that much.

Following the procedure here in the forum, I can get the Escalade to enter programming mode for the clickers. But it will not register the new clickers. Swapped batteries, cleaned contacts...basically out of ideas at the moment. I've spent the day googling Chevy forums and this seems to be a really common issue for the Silverado/Tahoe/Yukon...and some Escalades.

Any ideas? Could someone post the FCC code and other "codes" on the back of their remotes? I bought new remotes with the same codes as my original clicker...but no beuno at the moment

Hold buttons for minutes instead of seconds

Hey Jeremiah,

I just went through this process with two new FOBs I bought off Ebay. I could not get them to program according to the instructions  so I messaged the seller.

The seller told me to hold the buttons down for minutes instead of the 30 seconds it tells you to wait in the programming.

IT WORKED.

Hold the buttons for up to 5 minutes or so, mine eventually worked. It took FOREVER to program them, but I was able to program my two new FOBs and my original, so I have 3 working FOBs now.

Put the vehicle into programming mode, program each of the FOBs, finish programming mode, done.

Here's the instructions I used:

tried it again. held the buttons so long that the Esky actually exited programming mode by itself. Still nothing! Getting to the point where I'm going to visit the Dealership

You may have to get the compatible FCC code from your dealership using your VIN number. That's how I did it for my obs Tahoe. They gave me the code and I bought a couple off of eBay and never had a problem.
