Hello everybody. I first posted in the general intro section, but thought I'd drop in here, as this will be where I'll spend most of my time, to properly introduce myself and say thank you (especially to you 2dr guys) for the wealth of information that I've gathered from this site. I'll also continue my build thread here as the intro section may not be the best place for it. I will do my best to use the search function, not ask stupid questions or bump old threads, but not promising anything :)

This is my second 2 door... I sold my 1st (a white '97 Yukon) several years ago which I have dearly regretted ever since. I decided to not buy a NBCC and instead build the 2dr that I've always wanted.

Anyway, here's the old flame

... and the new love

Current mods:
6" FTS Lift
Front CV drive shaft for stupid Autotrac
rebuilt front end
35x12.5 Trail Grapps on 20x9 Tuff T01's
GTO front seats
HID Hi's & Low's
Cleaned & painted/coated under carriage

Future mods:
could be considered current, but it's at Audio x getting full audio/interior overhaul
Custom fabricated front/rear bumpers w/ dual 10" led light bars in front
2" cowl hood
hydrodip tail lights
projector retrofit - still have a lot of learnin' to do on this one

Here is the bumper drawing that I made. Mat'l & Light bars arrive on friday!!

Thanks again for everything I have learned and will continue to learn from you guys/gals and I'm excited to be here!!

Thank you, Lee. The design was the easy part... it's the execution that will be a pita. I ordered 3/16" plate, so these mofos are gonna be heavy trying to get them ligned up and held in place to fab the mounting brackets.

I'm still on the fence about the exhaust tips integrated into the rear bumper. Any opinions?

That is a nice bumper design.... I tried to CAD up a bumper for mine but I couldn't seem to get the dimensions and angles to work plus I'm not skilled in welding or really looked to see how the bumper is even mounted...

the burnout pieces showed up this afternoon. I'll start on the preliminary assembly tomorrow. Fingers & toes are crossed that my drawings were right so I don't have to do a lot of cutting. I know I'll have to trim the upper plate for a perfect fit against the grille, but hopefully that's about it.

Unpacked everything and the key pieces that I need weren't included.

Post up some pics of that... I'm planning on starting on my rear bumper after this and I might wanna rip off portions of your design!!

Wait til I get done and see if you like it... it might turn out like pure garbage. If all goes well, I can possibly have one built for you cheaper than you can find somebody... unless you have ties. My pops built chassis for Nascar teams ever since I was little then started a small iron working/fab shop business a few years ago (low overhead). Plus, the steel house my employer uses already has these programs stored in their laser cutter.
