I wanted to execute my travel mod work this past weekend and lower the ride but with a lil one on the way and a number of honey do list items sprung upon me, dropping the esky wasn't looking promising. Sunday I decided to just hammer out the travel mod and see if I could make any progress beyond that.

Now I've done this no less than 5 times so I've developed a good path. I've used a plasma (on my previous suburban) and honestly I worried like crazy working near the tank. This time I was determined to use no plasma.

I made the front cut with my angle grinder. I also made the fore and back cuts with the grinder but did them a touch short so I could come back and flush it up.

Once those cuts were done, I got a 36" pry bar and bent the bracket down to give me clearance and visual to the inside portion of the bracket. Then just use a 5" metal blad in my sawzall, probably had 20 minutes in on the tank side and less than 15 on the passenger side.

Sorry for the celly pics, I'm no good with pulling out the DSLR midst of working on the truck. Just wanted to get this out there as many really freak out about executing this. There's no need to over think the job.

Went static this time - sorry to disappoint. Trying to mellow out these days lol.

Are you using the pancake bumpstop or the cone shaped one?

Do they hit the frame flush or at a angle. I feel like I want the pancake ones.

the bumpstops i include with the kit attach to the axle. when it hits it doesnt jar you at all and you can cut down if you want (dont do to much or panhard bar will hit the upper cross member)
