Newbie from the great city of Miami, Florida. First off. Hello everyone. I own a 2004 Yukon 4wd. I'm hearing a loud growling type of noise while driving at low speeds. It disappears at higher speeds. The noise only lasts about 5-7 seconds at the most but it's annoying. The vibration is felt over the rear axle if you sit in the back on the 3rd row. One person said its the rear bearings. Another said that it could be the ABS pump. I need help. I don't want to fix the wrong thing and it turns out to be something else. PLEASE HELP!!! Has anyone experienced this?

I have a similar problem. depends on mileage could be rear bearings. didn't help me much but the noise is get quieter. I think the rest of my problem is in the transfer case. haven't had time to finish looking. I will post when I am done. my mileage is 145.000. bearings were defiantly gone.

Pretty sure it would not be the ABS pump. Does it only vibrate at low speeds too? It could possibly be a U Joint too.

I am going to say its not the abs pump. yes it could be a u-joint. have you been under the truck to look at anything yet?

mine don't vibrate but I have a rubbing noise I have been trying to get rid of. when I first got the truck it did vibrate but I did so much work I couldnèt tell you what part it was that stopped the vibration. When I got it I did u-joints, complete front end, all brakes and callipers, diff bearings all of them, changed all fluids even the blue expensive transfer case oil, intake gasket and tune up. most of the problems I had are gone except the rubbing noise and itès mainly at low speeds.
If you find yours let me know
