Hello everyone!

My Name is Dennis and I am new here!
I am from the south of Germany and 3 weeks ago I bought a 2005 Tahoe LT.
It has 17x7.5 Rims with 265/70/17 tires.

Now I want to go on 17x8 rims
(here: http://www.ebay.de/itm/281649813317?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT)

The shop offers the rims with "Einpresstiefe" (ET) 20 (mm) and 0 (mm) which actually is not the same measuring as the "backspace".
I think "Offset" is the correct Translation. "ET" is measured from the middle of the rim (0) to the inside (negativ ET (ex.: -20)) or to the outside (positive ET (ex.: +20)).

Now I wonder what ET/Offset I can Mount without having the tires Standing out of my Fenders (what is not allowed in Germany :emotions122:).

I want to stay with the 265/70/17.

Would 17x8 ET0 work?
Or 17x8 ET20 better?

I have no Fender flares installed.

Great would be some pics with Tahoes that have this size of rims (please add Offset) and tire size - so I can imagine how that yould look.

Willkommen! Unfortunately I don't know anything about those offsets. These forums don't get much traffic over the weekend so hopefully someone will chime in this week.

Thank you!
I found some Threads with a lot of talk about 20" rims and larger.
Only a few with 17x8". And the most of them dont concern about the tires Standing out of the Fenders or not :)

This is a pic how it Looks right now with the 7.5x17 OFFSET 31mm and 265/70/17.

Update:
currently I have an offer for 18x9 rims with 30mm Offset (should be 6.18" backspace). Will that work outside AND inside with 275/65 oder 265/65?
(No rubber Standing outside the Fender and no rubbing inside?

Pics anyone with that rim size and Offset?
