Yes boys, looks like the 5.3 is coming out and being replaced with a high compression ratio LQ9 6L engine. Ill be cleaning, and swaping intake manifolds, gaskets etc, before the swap. NO pics as yet.. Ill keep updated as I can pretty busy. Just thought I would share the info. The truck will be dyno tuned at PCM4less. Bolts ons, cai, longtubes, efans, 80e, tvs 2300 , trutrac, stall, gears are all on the list.

Scored the LQ9 for $750 with 75K miles, truck was in fire, so melted wires, and black rubber intake... I told him yea, Ill take it... :D

Thanks guys, yea, all I have to say is LOOK LOOK LOOk, its good deals if you know where to look. I made that decision with my 1st phone call. Got to go pick up the engine sometime this week.

The TVS Im leaning on is the TVS2300, cause the 6.0 has more cubes, but I may still do the 1900 as well. One of the reason I sprung this route, is so I can save without getting the SC right now, and have a HUGE jump in performance.... (HECK a cam swap, lifter, rods, springs alone can come up to 1Grand for the cam swap) The LQ9 was the best bang for the buck, so I went that route, and now I have more on the table to work with.

if you do the TVS, you probably should have done the LQ4. (lower compression)

Yes deffinately LQ4 for more easy with forced induction... But some extreme people like high compression plus being forced inducted as well. Makes for a bit difference when boost kicks in. But keeping temps in check by using meth is about all is needed.
I know I want some forced induction, but may even spring TURBO route if I can get a used kit for cheap.
