I wish I had that tractor. It's the neighbor's, and he said it should be able to lift ~1500lbs. with the forks. I think the fully dressed iron-block LS weighs like 535lbs?
I do want a boat. Luckily, though, the machinist said this block was in great shape. He said he's always impressed by how well old LS engines look after being cleaned up.
Also, he said they nailed whatever the LS bearings are made from. Mine had 154k, and he said they looked fine, and still...
That's the basement. I had realized the engine stand almost reached the stand plate when it was bolted to the block, so I mounted that, and made a little ramp rod the stand wheels. The block tilted and slid right out of the back of the car.
The only heavy lifting was getting the stand wheels...

Replaced two of the three power steering hoses: high & low pressure that connect to the rack. The third hose was supposed to arrive today, but Scamazon lied to me about Prime delivery.

Just discovered a hi-flow power-steering leak.... like all of it within a day. So I ordered up those three hoses and seals. The cooler looks dry & fine at the core and hardlines, but at the pump and rack there is so much muck and wet schmutz that I'm really not sure where the leak is... so...
