Everyone, thanks for all the great information and advice. Birchyboy, I can't thank you enough for the time you took to get this information. It is really helpful. The hitch that came with the TT and is a HD load leveling hitch (2-5/16" ball) and two steel bar & chain levelers. It also has a...

Towing a 26' travel trailer with 99 Yukon 4wd SLT

It's a 1999 Fleetwood Wilderness GL 26H. The day after we bought it we pulled it from Arkansas to the Black Hills Of SD. (impulsive, I know). It seemed to be ok but whinnied going up steeper grades to about 4K RPM, and only got up to about 45 MPH. 65-68 MPH is as much as it would go on flat...

Towing a 26' travel trailer with 99 Yukon 4wd SLT

Thanks Birchyboy. I actually saw that thread this morning and will go that route. Do you think that with that upgrade, the transmission will handly the load? Rear end? If I can upgrade those and keep this vehicle that would be sweet. If I have to get a stronger tow vehicle, I'd rather know...

Towing a 26' travel trailer with 99 Yukon 4wd SLT

I would have thought that this would be covered in past threads but I couldn't find any. Sorry if I'm being redundant. I just picked up a 26' travel trailer with a GMVW of 8300 and gross max unloaded wt of 6200. I have a 99 4d, 4wd SLT Yukon, with stock trans and rear end and original rear...

What's the best adhesive to repair a broken grille?

Thanks Thank for the tip. After thinking about it some more, I decided to try welding it from the back with a soldering iron. I didn't have any 60 minute epoxy, but I did have a soldering iron. It seems to have worked out well. We'll see if it holds after a few trips down some dirt roads.

What's the best adhesive to repair a broken grille?

I have a few broken slats, along with a few cracks at some of the fastening points, on the black plastic of my 99 Yukon SLT grille? Do any of you have a recommendation as to the best material to use to weld or epoxy the pieces back into place and have them be relatively strong? I'd really like...

    Loose steering 99 Yukon

Thanks Autolover. Mine had that foam crap too. I also got rid of it. I'll get back to that steering column drop in a few days. Thanks for the encouragement. I also noticed that cruise controller stopped working. Are these on the same circuit? I changed the 10a fuse (#6) and still not...

Keep the volume down a little bit on that tune rocket, too. You just might hear some early warning signs of another problem- like throwing a rod (LOL)

    Loose steering 99 Yukon

Got the replacement sensor at O'Reiley's after all. Now, I got the bolt out with no problem, but that housing that covers the union between the two shafts won't budge. I know you said use muscles, but, GEEZE!!! Not only can't I get it to move down, I'm afraid that if I do find a pry bar...

    Loose steering 99 Yukon

Great information guys. I found the bolt. And I think I see where you are talking about. Thanks. What does this sensor measure? I tried to get a sensor at O'Reiley's and they don't carry them. They said that none of the after market suppliers do. Is this a dealer only-item? Anyone...

Autolover, You have described my symptons exactly. Mine has the adjustment nut on the top of the box. I may give that a try, but thought I'd ask about the type of box I have first.
