2012 Tahoe PPV new owner here!

Hello again fellow SSV/PPVers. Been kinda MIA for a while due to the pandemic, work, etc., etc, but I'm back to chime in for a quick update on my PPV. I ordered a replacement hitch bar a while ago and finally got around to getting it installed. Took it to a local shop and they did a pretty job...

No horn on 2011 Tahoe SSV. I do NOT have the 6J4 option.

Did the same connecting the 2 light brown wires from the wiring bundle under the dash. This is the link to my post with photos. Need to scroll down to post #35. https://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/threads/2012-tahoe-ppv-new-owner-here.117090/page-4

    PPV spare tire

My 2012 was missing the spare, Jack, and tools. It has the lift winch and the shield. Bought a used PPV rim from LKQ online and the Jack/tools from EBay.

    2014 tahoe ppv wheels

Sorry about your wheel woes. You can get a PPV rim from LKQ online. If you haven't gotten one yet, you can search for your model year or any years 2007-2014. The type of rim you need is: WHEEL 17X7-1/2, STEEL, 8 HOLE, PAINTED, (OPT QV9) Prices can vary depending on the location of the salvaged...

Have you found a pic of your PPV/SSV in uniform? I did. Post em up.

My 2012 PPV FHP State Trooper in its original uniform and decals. PPV 2012 after purchase on auction day. PPV 2012 after stage 2 repaint completion (August 2020).

Never seen an SSV/PPV this color. It's purdy

Nice one! And, it already has the tow hitch bar.

Key in door not disabling alarm system

Thinking the same. OP may have gotten a spare key made at a Home Depot, but they need to be copied with a special chip key.

Best places to buy a PPV/SSV?

I’m a little late chiming in, but I bought my 2012 Tahoe PPV retired FHP (Florida Highway Patrol) on the spot at a local auction called Tampa Machinery Auction, Inc. Got it back in February 2020 as the winning bidder for $5200 ($6052 after tax, title, reg) with 175,013 miles. Mine of course was...

    Lowering ppv

Nice ride. Great job on the lowering. Regarding the DIC, you can buy the switch separately and in your vehicle bezel it will have the switch mounts and the plug-n-play connector on the back side. You just need to cut out the area where the switch will mount. Or, you can buy a used bezel which...

Isn't the Goodyear tire the best option for a PPV?

Those tires in that size (P265/60R-17) are 'V' speed rated according to the Tire Rack spec chart. https://www.tirerack.com/tires/Spec.jsp?tireMake=Hankook&tireModel=Dynapro+HP2

    Tahoe Down

Oh man! Sorry about your PPV. It can be replaced, but not your life. Glad you're ok. I had a similar situation a few weeks ago in my other car (BMW 335). Red light runner in the adjacent side ran thru a red light in front of me and totaled it. Miraculously, I was not severely injured. Just a...

    Police steering wheel

Ok. I have mine off my 2012 PPV after I swapped it for the one with the radio controls. It’s in good condition. No major scratches, wear, or tear. PM me if you’re interested.

Isn't the Goodyear tire the best option for a PPV?

I have the Kumho Crugen HP71 installed on the spare rim of my PPV. Used it when I had a flat and it handled and rode just fine. My PPV had RSAs when I bought it and I was going to replace them with the Kumho, but the tire shop discontinued selling them so I went with the BF Goodrich Advantage...
