    Finally dropped my 03 a little bit. Still need to get rid of running boards, roof rack and tint front windows to match. Also have the 2” air deflector extension to add and I’ll be done outside.

    Oil pressure seems ok, 45psi at speed and operating temp, 35psi at idle. Did change to synthetic from conventional and it seemed to drop a few psi but that makes no sense as I stayed with the recommended 5w30…unless previous owner was running a heavier weight.

    The dodo that was installing new tires and rims was trying to be super careful so as to not scratch the cross member which had never seen a jack…folded up a shop rag which lowered the coefficient of friction. Said dodo was in a huge hurry and didn’t notice jack pulling back until it was too late.

    Sour lemon, no doubt. Found wheels on marketplace. Tires from Discount Tire. Put on a 275/50-20. Almost exact same dimensions as the 13 y/o factory size 265/70-16 that still look virtually new.

    Not the first mod I’d planned on but getting the front end in the air to install new wheels and jack came off crossmember…busted oil pan. Daughter and I buttoned it back up today and got new wheels installed too.

    Wasn’t too good of a deal…I had to get in both pockets…I keep it long enough and cost per month to own goes down and I will but for now it was $$$. Thx for the welcome.

    Thank you all for welcoming me to the forum. That there are folks all over the country enjoying the Tahoe/Yukon is great. I also appreciate the opinions, suggestions and warnings. New tires should be on Mon-Tues…I’ll start posting pics in a new thread as I make changes. Have a great day.

    The 4.10 will for sure out pull the 3.73. I am surprised at the minimal difference in MPG between the two. When it needs replacing I may install the 4.10s. Fixing to learn how to set up the gears on my Nova so I’ll be better prepared when it goes.

    My 02 had a Volant cold air kit, stock exhaust and was tuned by Vengeance Racing in Ga…ran good. May do same on this one plus exhaust and call it good. Has 3.73 already so that’ll do and when it has 300k it may get the 6.0.

    I appreciate the advice. This is my driver so I definitely do not want a race truck and do not want to give up any dependability or longevity. My last Tahoe, a 2002, was bought with 62k and sold with 252k. Probably never hit passing gear 10 times in 10 years. This will be the same…I’m too cheap...
