What's wrong with a little over an inch of sag? There could be more options but the only 2 I see are get a weight distribution hitch or stiffer rear springs. Stiffer springs will obviously make it ride harsher when unloaded.
Personally I wouldn't worry about it unless you're always towing.
Its a little expensive but hemi's love redline 5w30. I run it in my 6.4 that calls for 0w40 pennzoil ultra platinum and I couldn't believe how much quieter the motor was after putting in the redline oil. My truck truck has never had the "hemi tick". It's a thicker 30 weight and has a lot of moly...
For the tow vehicle you could bump up the psi a few but probably isn't needed. All depends on how much weight the trailer and contents inside are. Tongue weight should be between 10-15% if loaded evenly so at 1000 lbs (just a random easy number) only roughly 100-150 lbs will be on the tongue or...
I would always hate when I had a recall on my truck, 16 ram 2500, that the door sticker says 80 psi for the rear tires. Every time the dealer would air them back up to 80. They're load range e and max 80 psi. I'd immediately lower them back down to 50 when I got home.
How long did you run the 0w40 for? Which oil did you use? Did it stay a true 40 wt the whole interval? From reading others oil analysis about pennzoil ultra platinum 0w40 it usually shears down to a 30 weight around 1k miles or so.
Vinyl wrapped the chrome trim around the windows. First time doing it besides wrapping above the headlights last fall when I put on the black grill. It's not perfect but turned out decent. See how long it lasts. Finally got the ok to debadge it. Told the wife I was going to order black suburban...
Having a hemi for the past 8 or so years I've read up a little on the hemi cam and lifter failures. First truck 05 1500 with the 5.7 no mds. 2nd and current truck 16 2500 6.4 with mds. Hemis came back out in 03 in the trucks. First year of mds was 06. 09 the hemi got eagle heads and I'm pretty...
Ever think about getting a battery maintainer for it for when it's sitting? A guy can also get a 6 foot or however long extension and run the cable for easy access. No popping the hood to plug it in. I have mine ran in the lower front bumper grill on my truck since that also sits for a week or...
I finally got around to replacing the drivers rear shock in the 15 (non magneride but rear air). Did the passenger side a few weeks ago. It puked all over the garage. So ordered both oem from rockauto. The air line on the drivers side was stuck/rusted to the shock and couldn't get it off without...
For the "wheels" going to be a bigger rim won't effect your speedometer as long as the tires on the new rims are the same size. If you go bigger or smaller with the tires then you're speedo will be off.
I still have the magnflow on it and no problems so far. I'd have to look through my notes on when I put it on. I'm pretty sure I put it on around 100k and it's still going with 263k on it now. No check engine lights either. Now the ebay ones for dirt cheap I doubt would last long but a guy might...
If you have a welder it's not that expensive to buy a universal cat converter that fits your dimensions and weld it in. I've never tried them but ebay has some really cheap ones. When the converter clogged up on my Pontiac I found a magnaflow one that had the same dimensions and welded it in...
Is the 3rd picture with the "new lower shank"? If it is the camper looks a little nose high. It could just be the angle of the picture, but if it is nose high that will also induce sway.
Never go by dry weight or the manufacturers listed tongue weight. The real dry weight (only way to know for sure is to take it to a scale) is probably really close to your 8100 lbs.
Small/local trips I would be fine with. Big family trips which to me means fully loaded tow vehicle and camper...
Did you do the last oil change or at least check to make sure whoever did it filled it up to the full mark? If not it's hard to tell how much it actually used.
The mobil 0w20 could possibly be a "heavier" 20 weight. A guy would have to lookup the specs of it compared to the ac delco. Just like the ac delco could be on the thinner side of a 20 weight. I'm not saying they are but it's a possibility.
Just remember not many people come on forums and check in daily or weekly and say their "insert vehicle here" is problem free. Most come on with problems and looking for advice.
Good luck with your new ride and post some pictures when ya can!
It is my understanding that there isn't any requirement by anyone other then the vehicle manufacturer for what oil to use in their vehicles. 0w20 they say gives you better mpg. Even if it's .10 mpg better which doesn't seem like a lot to a single person adds up over all the vehicles the...
