thanks for the document, I can trace the wires, just trying to figure out a good civilian use for the harnesses. I hate to see so much good wire go to waste.

wires - what did you do with them and how did you do it?

Hello everyone I have a lot of left over wires where the console used to be, under the dash and in the engine compartment. I decoded RPO codes and have all of the harnesses listed in the special services manual identified. Now, the question is, how did you use any of them? so far I rewired...

    Red interior light

update: I applied 12V to all the blunt cuts left for me by the seller, in a hope to power on the red ceiling light, at times I heard clicks, under the dash and in the engine compartment, but the light did not power on. I'll need to do more snooping to find the wires going to it. I might...

connector - what is it for?

update: as per suggestion, tested the wire and it is always hot 12V source, the wire is where the rest of cut off wires are, where the console used to be. I guess I am just going to use it as a low amp power source. thank you everyone for helping out.

    Red interior light

I have this nifty puck of a red/blue light on the headliner, but it does not turn on with the side switch. how should I go about figuring out which left over wires are from that light? I could not find this information in the SSV supplement. (I tried removing the light to see which wires are...

Thank you for a detailed response, your recommendations make a lot of sense. I am going to drive with the oil I already have in the engine, 15w40, and change out to 0w30 in 3k miles. then will see what, if anything, happens to the oil consumption. thank you again!

thank you for the suggestion, I am very much tempted to go back to 5w30 Mobil1, that is what I use in my SSR. is there something I can look for as an indicator of engine/oil combined performance? what sort of oil consumption should I expect? should I watch the oil pressure closely? just trying...

yep, 15w40 is pretty heavy diesel oil, I'm thinking I should give 5w30 a try and see what sort of oil consumption I will experience. thank you for the headrests tip, will try it out tomorrow. thank you!

New member with 2014 SSV and a few questions

Hello everybody Just bought myself 2014 SSV with 103k and I'm thrilled to join the community. I wanted one for a long time and finally bought it. I am in Chicago so the unit is a bit rusty crusty, but good enough for Chicago. I have a few questions I need help with: 1. Is there a method to...
