Is it original or aftermarket? Aftermarket are junk - these trucks only like OEM for those.
Suggest doing a CASE relearn first.
Does it act like this? (Aftermarket cam sensor, installed OEM and now no probs)
That's about what i spent doing refurb heads when my castech's cracked. did lifters as well.
you aren't kidding about little things adding up. i want to say it was almost $100 for two ARP thread chasers. gah!
nice work!
Put these on - took about an hour lollygagging in no particular rush. The originals show no visual signs of being bad and passed the jump up and down on the bumper test.
Man, oh man. They were definitely toast after almost 20 years and 173k miles. She drives so much nicer now. Wife will...
I brought a piece of cardboard to my dad's when I went to help because I didn't want to leave a massive spot. Now that the cover and main is done, I also can attest how nice it is to park like a normal person.
Good job.
I think the plate prevents the lock mechanism from being actuated.
Here's how mine looked when discovered, they definitely got in and rifled through the console:
Me and @Tonyrodz (i think) run these: https://jimmijammer.com/Product,%20JJ.htm
Some argue that using them could cause more damage to the door if they get really violent with trying to force it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
They scratched/gouged the crap out of my wheel (2019 Silverado take-offs from BIL new) when removing the stick on balance weights so I took it back. They want me to take it to a wheel repair place and let them know how much it will be. I guess that's reasonable?
Just ordered some "wholesale...
Took it for a balance/rotate, alignment, and new spare. That thing is original (2004) and only used once in 2006. Don't want to get stranded with a bum spare.
Last thread activity was almost 11 years ago, unlikely these folks are still around.
What year and model? I can dig out the entertainment pinouts for you.
The blue one in your hand (24 pin) looks like the Bose Premium amp connector under the console. Your Tahoe is without Y91 (Bose Luxury, only on Denali/Escalade).
Here's all the 2005 Tahoe entertainment connector pinouts from GM SI.
For future reference, partscenterplus on eBay is a GM dealer in AZ with reasonable prices and quick shipping. I use them whenever I need guaranteed OE parts.
Here we are doing the same jobs the same way. Good info for others.
There was no way to access that one the way the service manual indicates, so I loosened the headliner as well. Those coat hooks gave me challenges. Watched many vids and still managed to booger them up.
Hope you went OEM on the bearing or you'll be back in there soon. Do you have adjustable pedals? Those were a PITA to get that one nut back on for me. And I went Dorman first despite being warned. Didn't even last a week.
My 04 FF does, too. I thought the shop that did my rear main didn't get it sealed properly but I found a video of long before showing the same thing. Curious if you find anything out.
