    2008 tahoe 5.3l afm/dod delete issue

As @mikez71 said, it's just a mark from the press that isn't centered. I've never seen them centered. Also, I agree with @Geotrash on the machining of that lifter. I think poor quality parts were used. I can't say if that cam is new or not. If it's new but also a low-quality part, perhaps...

Need Help Identifying Missing Engine Part

+1 vote for intake manifold bolt hole. There are five on each side and that looks like where the forwardmost one on the passenger side would be. The frontmost hole in this pic, to the right of the injector hole. There are the four injector holes in a row and the five bolt holes in a row above...

    Useless Information

Are you questioning the axle swap on the road trip(s)? With your forethought and how you adhere to specs, I wouldn't be the least bit concerned. The only questionable factor are the parts used. Yes, you can use [what should be] the best parts. But, it seems everything is questionable these...

    Problem with lowering springs

Usually, shocks that coordinate with the drop are what limits the droop.

Cold Air Intake for the most power??

I forgot there was a snap-in factory replacement! I still prefer the super tight and firm seal I made, though. Although that new one looks to be wider and more dense than the original.

Cold Air Intake for the most power??

The factory setup is a damned good design as it isolates the intake air from the engine bay heat. It just looks boring and the duct has Hemholtz resonators to quiet down the intake air sound. It is NOT choking the engine of air. To improve the looks and sound, throw on an MIT. The one weak...

Lowered suspension still has a lean

Mine is dropped 3.5" in the front with Belltech struts and McGaughy knuckles. Maybe at the most an 1/8" difference left-to-right with one 1/4" ring on the driver side strut (1/2" lift) and none on the passenger side strut. My crazy short end links got the sway bar really flat/parallel with the...

    Blacked out Interior knobs

I think the hole in the center should be much larger so the cover is more like a ring. Make it just big enough to cover the shiny part of the factory knob. Give the outside an off-road tire tread and then you'd have something the 4x4/Z71/country folk would buy.

Lowered suspension still has a lean

But one could be defective. You could swap the strut assemblies left-to-right to test, but you've already dickered with the different amounts of rings between the two. If you have it in you to put them both back even, reassemble and test, it might be worth it just to rule that out. Lol

    Fuel Pump Module????

Mine ran fine but the gauge was inaccurate below 1/4 tank and I never knew it. I replaced it with a Delphi. I'd recommend Delphi or Bosch. I'm pretty sure the AC Delco and GM Genuine are made by one of them, anyway.

Ford also said that their computer simulations showed the tires at 30+ PSI actually increased the risk of rollover. :hmmm2:

^^This^^ Firestone said that tire on that vehicle should've had at least 30. The next generation Explorer got a wider track width, IRS and 32 PSI recommended pressure. They also got 16" wheels yielding slightly shorter sidewalls.

Lowered suspension still has a lean

It could just be the pic or my eyes, but the driver side coil looks slightly more compressed than the passenger side. Like it's a weak coil. As for the sway bar links, you just need shorter bolts and to cut that spacer tube accordingly. The bolts are usually 3/8"-16 (I think that's the thread...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I was a tire and lube monkey at a Firestone mechanic shop during that. My coworker and I got to where we could swap all five tires (spare included) in 15 minutes from lift up to lift down. I still don't think the issue was the tire, but Ford's low pressure spec to soften the ride. I believe...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

The speed rating is the maximum SUSTAINED speed, not the maximum intermittent speed. I agree that there's likely a safety margin in that. A tire manufacturer, especially a big-name performance tire maker isn't gonna risk their name with an over-rated tire. Any tire repairs (patches, plugs...

Good point. I had to look it up- My Pirellis are rated to a maximum sustained 149MPH. Interesting about the cold-versus-hot-bonded retreads. Wow.

Intake Manifold Nipple Broken! Please Help

Something like this would work. Might find something similar at Home Depot or on Amazon: https://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/16036/10002/-1 That's a 3/8". Not sure what size your PCV hose is, but there are other sizes of this type of fitting. Drill the hole in the manifold to a little smaller...
