    Probably need new O2 sensors?

Will do, I agree with you when dealing with electrical components to keep it OE. I couldn't find the OE on Rock Auto, so I will surely monitor economy and driveability, any hit on MPG they are coming out for sure. First two drives have been very favorable though. I will start another thread as...

    Question about replacing fuel lines

This is on a 2012 XL Denali, 140K miles. While replacing my upstream O2 sensors, I noticed a small amount of rust on the fuel line under the black plastic retainer that also secures the O2 sensor. Doesn't look too bad, but I have been debating replacing my fuel pump as preventive maintenance...

    Probably need new O2 sensors?

I wanted to add to this. I just changed both my upstream sensors, I noticed the tips were different with the new Denso sensors. The sensors I removed only had a few holes near the tip, but the denso had numerous holes the full length of the tip. How much different are these, if any...not sure...

    New Akebono pads squealing

Yeah, I was surprised to find all the play. Video starts with left to right, then up and down. Two different sets of Akebono pads did this, OE and Wagners fit perfect.

    New Akebono pads squealing

I swapped out my rear Wagner fleet pads as they were nearing the last 25% for the Akebono 1194. I did not realize the new pads came without hardware...(sigh) but my old hardware seemed good. I needed the 1194A. When I installed them, I noticed the fit was a little sloppy in the hardware. My...

Is my front strut cartridge bad?

If needed, I was thinking I could remove any control from the computer to alter the damping. Thus leaving the strut void of any changes to damping.

Is my front strut cartridge bad?

I need to clarify. My current setup is OE, factory harness connected to the strut. I do not have a resistor connected to the harness, I also do not have a CEL. I fabricated the resistor IN CASE I need to use it. No codes, replaced OE struts at approx 120K miles. Mechanic is definitely...

Is my front strut cartridge bad?

Not too bad, just had alignment done and I had the guy check to rule out them moving too much. I will get a pic of them later. What it seems to do is the strut compresses but stops, then releases. Like moving your finger on a piece of glass..keep it moving it glides, but stop and start again...

Is my front strut cartridge bad?

All strut bolts are tight, resistors are avail and assembled on a OE pigtail to connect directly to the strut harness if needed for further testing, currently the connection is OE. Caliper bolts are tight, Timken bearings about 1YO, no movement when moving tire..all is quiet. You can see the...

Is my front strut cartridge bad?

Roughly 10 months ago, I replaced my front strut cartridges with the OE BWI 19420494, also used new coil spring insulators. I had a reputable shop swap the springs and all has been good. About a month ago I started hearing and feeling a light "thunk" or "bump" in the LF when backing from a...

Did Michelin discontinue the Defender LTX in 22"?

Was hoping it was a supply issue but, I guess we shall see what comes our way. Thanks.

Did Michelin discontinue the Defender LTX in 22"?

    Specifically our 285/45/22? I see the new MS2 variant at $350 each...ouch.

Need torque specs for front diff and crossmember

2012 Yukon XL Denali. Don't want to trust the google web on this. I have a slight clunk a few months after the front diff swap, I think it's the cross member bolts, but want to go over all of them....thanks.

    Broken Motor Mounts

FWIW, I hear the Hummer mounts are robust, but some mention they just don't absorb as much vibration as the OE, but only slight differences. Mine lasted almost 10 years, so I felt that added smoothness was worth it even though I can't compare them, just word of mouth. So for less $$, I went...

    2012 Denali front driveshaft removal

We replied at the same time. IME, with 2-speed GM transfer cases, you can drive in 2HI (2WD) with the front shaft removed. I've done this a few times. List your vehicle so others can confirm this.

    2012 Denali front driveshaft removal

@89Suburban The boot of the front shaft sits in a groove near the transfer case housing, so while prying on it, the boot needs to come out of the groove and be pushed forward, it will keep trying to re-seat itself so be patient with it.

    2012 Denali front driveshaft removal

I did and I believe the update was tied into another thread on driveline issues so I apoligize for not updating this. Short version is I replaced the rear U-joints and when I did I must have bent an ear. When I took it to get balanced, I had the shop change the front U joints. They boogered...

    Broken Motor Mounts

Agreed. Replacing the LH mount fixed the engine lifting off the mount. Replacing the RH fixed the vibration at idle as that's the load side. The fact it was pretty much completely collapsed and hard as a rock also played a part...lol

Now that you mention it, I believe I also re-seated the connections on the driver's side footwell.

Looking for MDI to replace Tech 2 for pass through device.

I was looking at this initially, was skeptical considering the price but my Tech 2 clone has not had any issues so maybe these are as reliable. https://m.obd2tool.com/goods-10216-Best-quality-GM-MDI-2-Diagnostic-Tool-with-WIFI.html

Looking for MDI to replace Tech 2 for pass through device.

I will likely keep the Tech 2, but for reprogramming and flashing modules, need to get with the times. I have no idea where to look, what to get, would like to keep the price under $500 if that's an option. Will be used with a windows laptop on vehicles older than 2016 (for now). All input...

Airbag light help. B0012-04 and 0D

I had an airbag light a short ways back, code was for drivers side. The remedy for mine was removing the wheel and clocks clockspring wire connections and re-seating them. I re-seated the airbag connection first and put back together, light came back on. Tried again but re-seated airbag and...

    Post DoD delete ticking

@rachealae I just recently solved a light ticking sound in my 2012 6.2, tuned out to be a worn rocker arm. The OE style has play from the start, which I have never seen with roller rockers but that's how these are. After 130K miles the rocker had about .030" of radial play. The worn rocker...

    Single Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza

Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza 285/45/22 This was a replacement tire the previous owner installed before I bought it. I removed all of them for a set of Defenders. Has less than 2000 miles. No repairs and it shows between 10- 11/32 to the bottom of the tread, so about 9/32 usable. Would like...

Are the valve body seals a culprit with converter failures?

Thanks again, Being down one vehicle and not having a spare, makes this service more of a "don't mess with what's working" type of scenario. I'm comfortable enough to do it but should I wait till summer when the Yukon can sit for a few days if needed is my dillema. I could likely knock all...
