    U-Haul Trailer Towing Questions

Set the tire pressure cold, this means ambient for where you are, before driving. Do not adjust or let tire pressure out when tires are hot, this means on a short stop. Heat will increase the pressure, do not let any out. The higher ambient temp at your destination is not an issue. It is not...

2017 Yukon Denali Rear Shock Replacement

Well, I am back to report that the issue was completely mine. The electrical connection on the right rear shock was not seated, the o-ring type seal had escaped the grove and was jammed in the bottom of the socket. Removed the o-ring, lubed with dielectric grease and it went right together...

2017 Yukon Denali Rear Shock Replacement

I am bumping this thread because I am not happy with the performance of the Arnott MR 3626 magnaride rear shocks. Still the rear end is still bouncing around. Even did the old put your weight on the rear bumber to bounce it, stopped moving on the third bounce. When I replaced the fronts with...

    Mount em up!

"While they are at it..." does not compute for dealers. I garronntee if you had a repair that included pulling the engine and asked to have the motor mounts replaced "while they are at it" the book time for each job would apply.

    2017 Escalade/Denali L86 "requires" 93 octane - your experience?

Why you sad Marky? From your posts, I consider you quite knowledgeable, is there something incorrect in my statement?

    2017 Escalade/Denali L86 "requires" 93 octane - your experience?

I need to qualify this with yes, if you have a high compression engine that needs it. My brother continually puts mid grade in his jeep wrangler thinking it "runs better". :/ High octane fuel won't do anything to improve performance of an engine that is not intended for it. Most folks don't...

    Dod failure/opportunity?

My problem is living so remote, nobody in this town can tune these without removing the ecm/tcm from the vehicle and sending it off.

Wow! Talk about BIG BROTHER watching everything. So glad I live out West in relative freedom.

It went 100K miles. Rebuild the 12 bolt with quality aftermarket parts. Flog it for another 100K...Profit?

    Dod failure/opportunity?

Lifter in my '17 Yukon Denali failed at 63,*** and bent a push rod. Highly recommend the stage 1 cam, lifters and all the rest that go with the mechanical delete and custom tune. Mine dyno-ed 352 rear wheel HP. Still gets 19.5 mpg at 85 mph. I cannot attest to any smog tests as there are...

    2017 Yukon Denali

The guys on this forum call it "flip the pill". I have not seen a link or video of the procedure. It is turning something backward inside the t-stat, I think. The Great Wise Ones at GM thought it was a good idea to put a thermostat in the transmission cooler lines. This prevents fluid from...

Those Who Moved From an '07-14 to '15+ generation... How Was It?

The fold down third row and the false floor behind it have a definite slope. I do like the hidden storage, perfect for a small rifle and some range ammo! I folded the third row down the day after I bought it and keep an icebox and other stuff back there. We have only one child left in the...

    Removing oil pan 6.2L

The oil pump is one of the things the shop changed on mine. Sorry I cannot help with pan removal, they removed the engine and did all the work on a stand.

    8L90 at wits end

I would be talking to the shop that did the 'rebuild'. My understanding is the 8L90 has the aftermarket support to hold the horsepower.

Time for new battery, need info, 2019 Tahoe

Pretty sure the AMG was standard on my '17 Yukon Denali. When it failed there were no AMG replacements in my small town, traditional lead acid it is. I use an AMG in my race car and it does not care.

    2017 Yukon Denali

With that low mileage, have the transmission service with the updated fluid and do the modification to the trans fluid t-stat (I have not done that yet). Regarding the lifters, it is when, not if they fail. Be prepared for cam and lifter replacement. Warranty replacement will only use the same...

Those Who Moved From an '07-14 to '15+ generation... How Was It?

I went from an '06 Yukon XL Denali to '17 Yukon Denali. The '06 was much easier for healight replacement, and air filters. I had the collapsed lifter/ bent pushrod on the '17 with the 6.2L which prompted me to a cam and lifter replacement. The rear cargo area in the '17 sux ass, it is sloped...

Oil Catch Can - Surprised By Results

@89Suburban I do know gravity is my friend, but I am not a physics major, can you tell us why the catch can should be mounted lower? I have the same set up and I empty mine at 2,000 mile intervals, it is two thirds full. As for the moisture milkshake, I get that in the winter only, low humidity...

2015 Yukon No Dash No Crank Full battery, Need Help

Start by removing and cleaning the cables thoroughly and charge the battery. Check for any loose or dirty connections on both ends of hte cables. You did not tell us how old the battery is, these rigs are very finicky with marginal batteries too.

    Transmission Swap

Nice looking Yukon OP, partial to the Frost White myself. Find a reputable transmission shop that can rebuild using quality hard parts and an upgraded torque converter, they should be able to tune the TCM as well.
