Agreed.
Also, anyone who is paying attention will notice that new cars are becoming more and more privacy invasive. They always sell it to us under the guise of "convenience", similar to when the rolled out in car GPS and OnStar etc.
Your car knows everywhere you go, how long you stay there...
Never too long imo. An immaculate 97 Tahoe would get as much if not more attention than a 2024 at a car show.
Every vehicle has problems. It's our job to do our best at preventative maintenance to avoid big problems and tackle unforseen problems in the most financially realistic way.
I was interested in doing the same and saw that video too. I haven't tried his route as it seemed too involved.
The Avalanche and Sierra tails from those years operate like this from the factory. I'm guessing if you get your hands on a harness from one of them you could make it work. They're...
I recently met a local guy with a pickup that had aftermarket chrome 22s (285/45/22), but the rim faces covered most of the tire sidewalls. Essentially it was a 22 inch rim with the visible part of the wheels expanding to 27 inches to cover the tires for a bigger rim illusion. I used to see him...
I imagine getting a low mileage one from a JY could also be a less costly option. So long as the truck was running before it was totaled, without any front damage.

I'm at the point now where i'm considering ordering one of these. I've already spent hundreds on chasing gremlins in my 07 Tahoe(230k) at local repair shops. The latest is an intermittent hard start where it will crank for a few seconds then may or may not start. Most recent codes being thrown...
Have a similar issue with my 07 Tahoe. For the past year and a half i've had an intermittent cold then not cold on the driver side climate control(passenger side is always cold). Was too infrequent to be concerned with so I left it alone. Then I noticed I would only get cold air if the temp was...
Same thing happening in the real estate rental world. You have to be loaded just to drive a decent vehicle and live in a relatively safe and comfortable home in today's world.
I do have both top and bottom bumpers on the right door but missing the top one on the left. Both doors sound identical so I ruled that out as the problem.
On this same topic my two back doors sound like they are slammed even when shut normally, almost as if there is metal to metal. So much so that when people get out and shut the door they are often startled and apologize for shutting so hard.
I checked to see if there was any molding or...
