Here we go.
This has been an ongoing battle with GM.
I have written up the transmission 5 times for a gear noise//whine//in 6th gear ONLY at speeds between 58 and 62 MPH ONLY.
The noise gets louder as the gas pedal is slowly pressed. In other words--you can apply and remove gas pedal pressure and the noise increases and decreases.
This noise is causing me headaches. No. Real headaches as in pain in my head. (Yes--The whole deal has also been a pain someplace else!!)
Five trips to the dealer.
GM has opened a TAC case for this problem--a GM rep (engineer???) drove the vehicle and noted the noise.
The local Chevy dealer----The service manager, the transmission specialist and the shop manager all agree that there is a noise there.
The local dealer removed and replaced the "output carrier".
The noise is still there.
I had a meeting yesterday with the service writer, the service manager and the shop manager. I was told that they are done as far as attempting any more repairs and that I was to contact Chevy Customer Assistance at 800-222-1020.
I shall make that call Monday.
So--
What do you think about the situation??
Be safe.
