Ok so i picked up a np 246 Case out off of a 99 Suburban with a 4l80e.... Not knowing that the spline count on that trans output shaft was 32 making the Input shaft sleeve on the Transfer case a 32...
My denali has a 4l60e which is 27 splines... I put the new case in and the truck just acts like its in neutral...
Im wondering if I can pull the old input shaft off the other Tcase and swap it into my new Tcase after changing out all the gears and goodies on the old shaft to the new shaft... I see some sites say yes theyre interchangable... I dont see anywhere they say u cant... I just dont want to spend 2-3 hrs scratching my head when i can put my old case back in for now untill i get a new shaft for this case that doesnt have huge holes in the side...

Found my anwser on another forum...
If anyones wondering, even though most people just swap out the 246 autotrack for the 241 or others, the input shafts on the np246 are swappable... so if you cant find a 246 off of a 4l60e(27 spline) grab one off of a 4l80e(32 spline) pop the case apart and swap it, or vice versa... its pretty simple... Take off the rubber gromment on the tailshaft and undo the snapring inside... then pull the chain, Planetary and clutches, swap the shaft, install reverse... waaalaaa
