I called Fort Wayne Clutch to order a new nickel plated slip yoke. Based on the information I gave the guy on the phone, he said there were 2 slip yoke options. The choices were one with internal snap rings and one with external snap rings. I didn't know what is the correct one.

I slid under the vehicle this morning and took some pictures of the existing slip yoke. I am guessing internal snap rings, but not sure. What is your best guess based on these pictures?

It would be internal is my guess. Just tell him the snap rings are around the outer diameter of the cups in a groove instead of the grooves inside the yoke ears at the ends.

By the way, you will have to heat the yokes where the little nubs are at because you have to heat to expand that stuff out of there to be able to separate the old u-joint from the yokes. Right what is holding the u-joints in there is that material but when replace the u-joint it will need the clips that go over the outer diameter of the cups inside the ears on the yokes. When heating make sure you keep your head back away from the u-joint cups. I have seen them actually pop out of that hole in the yoke.
