This is the beginning of my Overland build ...07 SSV Tahoe I picked up a cpl years ago at auction with only 75k mi..... I use it for work everyday but also want to off road it as well....especially after reading about some of the builds on this forum.
I am not overly concerned with having all brand new shiny parts on it so I will spare $'s and invest where most needed...starting with a used set of pro comp 17x9 in wheels... $300.00 for the set with a new set of 245 Bridgestone AT'S... With what I saved there I spent more on the tires I wanted... 315/70/17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers. I had a mobile wheel polisher come over and polish the wheels out and I mounted and balanced them at my friends shop.... I bought the Rough Country 3.5 in lift and the RC 3.5 IN longer loaded struts and rear shocks so I didn't have to use the front strut spacers or the rear shock extension's.....I left the front swayer off as well. I installed the lift in my garage.... (fun) did the nor cal mod to the front fenders but since I only went 3.5 in I will need to mod a little more.. I didn't want to lift the truck real high because they are kinda top heavy so I knew I was going to have to really clearance the front fenders.... Also cut off the front skirt. I have a pre-runner style frt bumper I may use but I also have a steel bumper off of a Jeep with a winch mount I may go with instead.... This is just the beginning!
