By the end of this week, this will be the last gold anything on my Tahoe that I am aware of. That ugly color will be gone. I'm going to order something to cover it up, and I'll report back when this little project is over. Here's the link to what appears to be a solution to fixing GM's ugly choice of gold to mar the beauty of my Tahoe:

Now, color choices. Hum.

Great find! I will be doing this as well. I already painted the gold bowties on my wheels and I'm with you, it has to go!

Do you have any experience with this company?

No, I have not done business with the company before. It just look like they have a good website with some space devoted to the problem I'm trying to fix.

My preference is to replace rather than cover up, but the steering wheel gold bowtie presents a special problem since that cover apparently goes with an airbag, and I'm not about to diddle with an airbag under any circumstances. I'm not completely stupid! :D

I'm going to give the website a try and see what happens.

Well for $9.99 I gave it a shot. I will let you know what happens. I went with the brushed aluminum.

How funny. That's my preference right now. I'm off to bed, however. I'll get my order placed tomorrow evening. I may order two different ones just in case. I'm a big spender. :laughing1:

One of the first things I did was remove the gold from the steering wheel bowtie

You can do this for free if you have a razor blade. Go to a local sign shop and ask if they have any scrap pieces laying around. Take a square of the vinyl stick it to the emblem, and then trace out the bowtie

I like the idea of getting scrap vinyl but the ones they are selling cover only the gold portion not the whole emblem, so it would match the PTM front and rear bow tie. Maybe a local vinyl shop could just cut something that small for u for cheaper. I don't think $10 is a great price for one small decal maybe $3-5 shipped.
