    i am based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. I went to the GM dealer I bought the car from. It was not covered by GM (should it be??). I paid USD 406 for parts and labor. It was a 45 minute job.

    thanks everyone for the inputs. got the vacuum pump replaced from the dealer. the problem has been solved. its been almost 2 weeks now and no brake-related issues. in fact the brakes feel much better.

    Checked the lines, no fluid. Also fluid inside the booster is clear, no oil there.

    Yes i was called by the dealer to get some software update done for the abs module. I got it done

    Got it. So you're suggesting tightening the belt first before replacing the pump?

    So the booster and the vacuum pump are two different things right? I am assuming the booster is fine and its the pump thats going. The belt seems to be in good shape. But I will change it regardless.
