Do torsion bars wear out?
The z85 in the VIN decoder is described as “chassis increased capacity” the Z82 is the trailer hitch/wiring. Also says it has the 9900lb brakes which i noticed some of the rock auto parts descriptions for this truck mentioned as an option. Anyway, it looks like i need 6gk and 7gk torsion bars...- bgiff

Do torsion bars wear out?
When i backed out the tosion adjusting bolt, the keeper key was already loose. I didnt hardly need the unloader tool as just a couple turns by hand on the tool gave me clearance to remove the keeper. Also, it appears the bar might have a slight bend to it. All the gm parts places say the part...- bgiff

Rooftop tents?
To answer my own question, yea they do. It says 200lbs if anyone else wonders. Rooftop tent may not be a good idea for my weight.- bgiff

Window/sunroof re kearn calibbration-Need fancy scanner?
I have 2001 Sub which i have struggled with the sunroof for years after a dead battery. (i finally just closed it maually a few years ago and gave up) Anyway, just changed a rear window regulator and it opens the window as soon as the ignition is turned on and the the (new) motor on the actuator... -

I wonder if the owner’s manual has roof rack capacity somewhere. GM engineere almost certainly spec’d a load capacity.- bgiff

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?
Two uber cheap upgrades from junkyard on my 2001 sub: 1. I installed 2nd batery tray from a duramax equipped truck and another starting/backup battery-bolt on easy peasy. 2. I snagged two factory roof rack crossbars and added them to my rack for additional support.- bgiff

Rooftop tents?
Will the factory rack on a 2001 support a rooftop tent? The manufacturer specs say “Vehicle mounting cross bars must have a dynamic weight load of at least 165 lbs.” I added 2 factory (junkyard) crossbars as a cheap reinforcement for a basket which seems more stable, but i just dont know if a...- bgiff

Headers on 2001 2500
Looking at headers on Ebay, there are some nice looking stainless headers that say they'll fit on a 2001 Silverado, Denali, 1500, 2500 etc but says it won't fit on my 2001 Sub 2500 with 6.0. Aren't Silverados and Suburbans virtually identical from the drivers seat forward?? Also wondering if...- bgiff
