    After I installed the new battery, the P129D went away. I plugged in and deleted the P1682 but it came right back so it I think its a stored code.

    I installed a new battery on the pass side and the P129D is gone, for now. The P1682 is still there but when I google it, it seems that everyone with that code has a no start issue. Mine fires right up and runs well.

    I've RARELY heard of one of these blocks to crack. I'd say he is lying to you and trying to screw you. There are tons of low mile 6.2L at LKQ for $5K and its maybe another $3K in labor and that is pretty steep as well.
