Yes, low oil pressure can cause this. So can cheap aftermarket lifters installed 10,000 miles ago.... And it could simply be the o-ring...

The clicking or ticking sound is usually a lifter that sticking. Usually a bad check ball in the lifter.... Or it's full of crud keeping...

Fuel pressure increase when in open loop due to CEL

Then I would start by pulling the VLOM and hopefully you're looking at a broken o-ring.... That would be the best scenario
