04 Yukon XL SLT Can't find AC leak after collision with Deer

Pretty much worked, albeit the stuff I used had dye in it (ollies had a nice sale at $9 per can w/UV). it was pooled under the condensor, off to the left, which made sense as that's where the deer hit.

04 Yukon XL SLT Can't find AC leak after collision with Deer

I'm placing my order for the parts now. I'm including seals, shrader valve, condensor, drier, and PAG oil. Is there anything else I ought to replace while the system has no freon? Also PAG 150 or 46 oil? So far what I've seen I should use 150, not sure of the compressor make. assuming original...

04 Yukon XL SLT Can't find AC leak after collision with Deer

That was the thing. I didn't add any freon, just UV dye. I didn't want to waste the stuff if I didn't have to. I was finally able to attempt to add some in yesterday though. numerous Autozone rental tool issues :p Compressor didn't cut on, but the leak did show up this time, it was pooling under...

My apologies, thank you! Mobile version wasn't showing that part of the path.

04 Yukon XL SLT Can't find AC leak after collision with Deer

About a month back I hit a deer while driving back home (ironically while test driving my e-brake repair). Thankfully it was a small one and it only dented the bumper and ruined the grill (which I happened to have another on hand I was going to replace anyways). However until that point the ac...

04 Yukon XL Lumbar support repair?

I'm trying to see how I could fix the power lumbar support in my '04 Yukon XL, the seat has been stuck a certain way since I bought the truck and it's starting to screw with my back :(, so yep it's time. As of now the only way I MIGHT be able to adjust it is if I repeatedly tap the button (It...

Can I replace just the CV joint? or does the entire axle need to be rebuilt?

Fair enough. It's $3 more on Amazon but have Prime, so the cost there is negligible. Yeah that's my thought there. I figure it doesn't seem that hard to do, I'd rather just do it once and then not have to worry about it again for a long while.

Can I replace just the CV joint? or does the entire axle need to be rebuilt?

I'll give that a try. On the other side the boots looked ok. Truck's currently sitting at 205k miles.

Can I replace just the CV joint? or does the entire axle need to be rebuilt?

Yeah that's what I've heard as well. I'm usually pretty funny about torque specs anyways, so yeah that won't be an issue. Would it make sense to go ahead and replace both sides while I'm at it?

Can I replace just the CV joint? or does the entire axle need to be rebuilt?

Correct on both counts. It is the outer joint with the torn boot. Also we do have salt on the roads yes (though not heavily like in the rust belt though).

Can I replace just the CV joint? or does the entire axle need to be rebuilt?

While changing my transmission fluid, I saw that my driver-side CV joint boot was completely ripped open. I have no idea how long it's been like this. I do get some clicking when I turn though, not going straight though. I was originally looking to get one of the heavy duty Cardone's for $78 at...

Changed thermostat, Coolant temperature stays at 185 degrees

Not sure on DS head, but it was the sensor between 2 spark plugs by the alternator.

Changed thermostat, Coolant temperature stays at 185 degrees

So I've got it fixed. It was the sending unit after all. Since replacing it I've driven it down the road. Makes it right to the 205-210 mark.

Changed thermostat, Coolant temperature stays at 185 degrees

It has been recommended yes, I've got one now. I've been finding readings were around 140 - 160 when warmed up.

Ok false alarm. The popping went away after a few minutes. No smoke. I've been able to get some coolant. It has bubbled down a bit, not significantly. Was able to drive up the road and get heat with no signs of overheat. Thermostat is still going up only partway. I have a new sending unit...
