    1989 C4 Functional Restoration

Looking at your rpo sticker I see the 8.5 ring gear and 3.33 ratio, but no positraction code. That car have an open differential? Lots of good work in the car!

2020 with slight vibration at idle

Vibration at idle could be a slight imbalance of the torque converter or some flex plate runout. At that mileage the valves could be sludged up on the back sides and disturbing the air flow at the low speed.

Best place to buy extended warranty

Question for some of you who have bought the GMEPP. Does this warranty show up on your GM website account? We got the warranty from Laurel Chevrolet a couple years ago, got all the paperwork signed etc. but nothing shows up when I log into our My Chevrolet account.

Anyone else do this in the winter?

A lot of the new Tahoe/Yukons have shutters just behind the grill to cut the air flow. More for gas mileage than warm up but should help that too I'd think.

    2011 Chevy Tahoe overhaul needed?

When doing the brakes check the slider pins on the calipers. Pull the pins out, clean and regrease with some good brake safe lube. You'd be surprised how those can get rusted and seize up tight.

    2011 Chevy Tahoe overhaul needed?

For sure I'd change that Xfer case lube, maybe two quick changes to get it cleaned out. On the engine with that mileage I'd change the oil with some of the "High Mileage" formulated oil before going all out on the overhaul.

    DOD Delete now ticking

Or maybe a slightly loose spark plug. Listen close up at the base as you can.

    Replacement Battery

I will also say these new charging systems don't like sulfated batteries. I got a new Delco at our dealer and noticed it was charging over 15 volt constant, not once on a trip did it cut down to the 12.8 maintaining mode. I took a close look and that battery had been on the shelf for 8 months...

2025 Tahoe 6.2-liter Z71 engine light flashing, stuttering engine

Probably 25 different things that could cause that condition. Is it always the same cylinder mis-firing?

Polished Aluminum vs. Silver Painted Aluminum Wheels? Pro's/Con's

Not a fan of fully painted wheels. Machine finished polished aluminum for me. Chromed wheels really look good but, generally, chrome on aluminum doesn't hold up well. But a lot depends on how they will be maintained.

What type of metal is the exhaust?

The parts being welded have to be really clean and shiny bare steel, crud of any kind will pretty much make for a lousy weld. If the welder will lay a bead it should have enough *********** to stick exhaust tubing.

    Need measurement, ATF, cold

Yes, maybe. Not sure how the transmission internals and cooler might be different on a 2012 and my 2019. A cold check would have most of that fluid drained back to the pan and yours might be somewhat different. I've been wrenching on cars for a long LONG time and never ran into a situation...

    Torque Converter

Son's 6l transmission completely failed at 105K miles. Some slight warning that we thought was a load of bad gas, felt like a slight misfire at easy cruise. Transmission shop said he used to make a living with Dodges, now it's 90% GM and several a week. That was a big expense for a rural school...

    Need measurement, ATF, cold

Sure appreciate it if someone would give me a measurement from the bottom of the stick to the fluid line on your 6L80 trans. dipstick when sitting level, cold, and engine off. I know this is not how it's supposed to be checked but: Did a filter and fluid change on the 6l80 (2019) transmission...

    Rescued 2004 Z71

That was a good year for those machines. I'd guess another 100k miles possible.
