Front Inner Fender Liner - Under hood Splash blocking

I decided to do something about the poorly designed inner fender liners that allow lots of road water to spray & splash into the engine compartment. Purchased a 36x36 sheet of 1/8" thick nylon reinforced rubber, and cut two splash shields from it. (started by making a cardboard template). Then punched 1/4" fastening holes in it, and drilled matching holes in the inner fender liner. held them together with 1/4" plastic push rivets. I'll see if I need to tie down the bottom edge better.

Now I won't feel like I am wasting my time keeping the engine compartment clean.

Are the NNBS that bad? I know my NBS liners work great.

Nice! I’ve been so upset with these gaping holes as well. Glad you posted this!

This is a good way to protect the part directly above the tire as well. Not sure why they leave that part exposed for all the rocks and salt to hit.
