Odd Bose radio issues. No sound when cold. Randomly powers off for a few seconds. Occasional theftlock briefly then works fine.

lots of member with a tech2 including myself, there is a thread with owners listed
and any repair shop with a tech2 or compatible should be able to do it for cheaper then, call around
you can get a tech2 win device off ebay also, then you can save yourself that $125 charge every time.

Thanks, didn’t know about that. Apparently the interface software is free and you just have to buy the device.

So there is a free way to test a theftlocked radio in your truck...

With the radio in hand, NOT PLUGGED IN, turn the key onto assessory, NOT ON, count to 10, and plug in the radio. The radio should power on with full function. It will stay this way until you either turn the key off, or turn the key on/start.

Yes the replacement radio I have does power on but no sound when in acc mode. If I turn key to on then it goes into theftlock until I pull radio fuse and go back to acc

If you got no sound, either the radio is not equipped for your radio system, or, some other part of your radio system has failed.

Oh hell maybe I got sound like 1 out of 3 times when trying the acc mode with spare radio. It’s been awhile. It sure looks nice in my garage lol.

Why does it have to be so GD complicated? Thanks GM!

WatchJRGo on YouTube recommends ATTO brand. I think that works with steering wheel controls too.

But I want the GD OEM look Damnit!

That want is fading with all the complications lol

Can you pull your radio out and warm just the radio with a heat gum/ hair dryer to help find the location of the issue?

You are on to something. Installed the replacement radio which is in really nice condition but no sound. Powers on and can change stations but no chime no sound at all

I hook up original radio and stuff and works when it’s not cold out of course.
