image.jpg Anyone else had this issue? Was investigating why it wouldn't switch from hot to cold and found this. I'm guessing I have to pull the whole box to like epoxy it back together or buy a replacement rod? Thanks

I pulled out the rear heater core and could feel the blend door flopping around in there. No wonder it broke the whole door is held in place and actuated by that skinny little rod being attached to the side of the door. Terrible design.

I realize this is about 8 years later lol - but do you remember what the end result was for fixing this? I have the exact same problem. The break even looks the same. Trying to figure out how to fix it.

@air360 Unfortunately the OP has not been here since 9/11/2020. You might want to consider making a new thread.

I just had this same issue. I went to local junk yard and pulled a complete rear housing assembly with the blend door. I also grabbed an extra blend door for the future. You can go to the local yard and remove a blend door from the rear ac housing assembly. It is easiest to reclaim the freon and remove the housing and undo the metal clips and slide apart.
